Road Incident Data - B3272 Hawley Road
The data regarding Road Incidents is published and freely available in the public domain. This data has analysed for the B3272 Hawley Road and the surrounding roads for all casualty and vehicle types in the following time intervals:
- Introduction of 30 mph speed limit (2016 to 09/2018)
- Last 5 years (2014 to 09/2018)
- Last 20 years (1999 to 09/2018)
Further analysis has been performed on the 5 years results to sort into casualty categories. These categories are:
- Child
- Motorcycle
- Pedestrian
- Pedal Cycle
Data is published on an annual basis by the Department of Transport and this has recently occurred in late September. It is expected that this will revert to the last June date in future.
It is known that an additional incident has occurred between a pedestrian and a car at the Hawley Road and Hawley Green junction. It is expected that this will be published in the next set of data in the Slight Incident Severity classification.

Incident Data Sources
The presented data has been obtained from the following sources:
- Official data published by the Department for Transport which is based on records submitted to them by police forces.
- The records relate only to personal injury accidents on public roads that are reported to the police, and subsequently recorded, using the STATS19 accident reporting form.
- Information on damage-only accidents, with no human casualties or accidents on private roads or car parks are not included in this data.
- Figures for deaths refer to persons killed immediately or who died within 30 days of the accident

The map shows all incident types involving all vehicle types during the period 2014 to 09/2018. This period was selected to provide a representative sample to determine points of repetitive incidents.

The map shows the incidents where a child was reported as a casualty. The child casualty may be either a pedestrian or in a vehicle involved. The incident in the area of Holy Trinity Church can also be found in the Pedestrian incident map, implying that this was a pedestrian child incident.
